![]() I honestly expected a huge peak whenever regional pricing got restored, but it's not the case. And that, even assuming they fixed it within two days after launch. People bought it, played it for a few days, the number of players peaked, and then it went down. Looking at the game's release date, the thread's creation date, and SteamDB stats for both the game and its sequel, it looks like regional pricing didn't affect the game's launch much. They must have realized how much that affected their sales, as they actually went and fixed it, and all of their games now follow the same pricing scheme (which ends up being less profitable for them) They probably thought it was a good idea to have the same price everywhere, before being kindly reminded that regional pricing is a thing on Steam and that applying the same price worldwide made it way too expensive for anyone to buy it there. Look no further than Blaster Master Zero's launch on Steam (first game of their initiative to bring more games to PC), and at first it was released its regional price was accurate to each region, but "accurate" means quite a lot of many in country with high devaluation rates (like Argentina ) Do you have any sources showing their audience on PC is mostly in areas where regional pricing is low, though? Because to me it looks like a case of the games being mostly late ports on top of being niche, which is usually not very profitable. I can see how low sales and low budget would push them to release a separate updated version. I agree it would be better to have these improvements in the Steam version, since it would then become the objectively best version. ![]() (Basically Inti's audience on PC are broke) Really I feel Inti is aware that the audience for their games on PC is just too small, and isn't actually growing in size (why the $2 DLC for LAiX which was free for all platforms was not exclusively on PC), plus the fact that most of them already don't have enough income to actually afford a Switch or even a 3DS, plus that they depend on the regional price on Steam to be low to make the games accessible for them. That might even be why they updated the game in the first place, in my opinion. If they *do* end up porting Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 to PC though, I think they might do one more round of improvements for the first game and release a bundle containing both games. (like the game being unable to be played offline) Oh. ![]() Originally posted by Deep Weeb:It 's not that it's missing content, it's just the quality, there's no rumble and the portraits are still the same resolution as the 3DS version (which the Switch version promises high-res art) plus quite some bugs introduced by the new update that are still unresolved. ![]()
